Real Welsh 3 Peaks

Snowdon. Cadair Idris. Pen y Fan. The real Welsh three peaks — the toughest single-day trek in Wales.

Trip Overview

The true Welsh three peaks — a brutal challenge across Snowdonia's highest summits. Unlike the popular National 3 Peaks (which only visits Snowdon in Wales), this challenge tackles the three highest mountains entirely within Wales: Snowdon (1,085m), Cadair Idris (893m), and Pen y Fan (886m) — all in a single day. This is an extreme endurance event with massive total ascent and significant driving transfers between the three peaks. The walking itself is demanding mountain terrain on each peak, and the cumulative fatigue across the day makes this one of the toughest single-day challenges in the UK.

Who is this for?

Extreme

An extreme challenge for very fit walkers only. You need to be comfortable on sustained mountain ascents while fatigued. This is significantly harder than the National 3 Peaks as all three are serious mountains in their own right.

Easy — No experience needed
Moderate — Some fitness required
Challenging — Good fitness essential
Extreme — Very high fitness required

Common Questions

The National 3 Peaks does one peak each in Scotland, England, and Wales. This does all three peaks in Wales.
Different challenge — less driving but the Welsh peaks are all serious mountains.
Approximately 3-4 hours of transfers between peaks.
Snowdon has the most ascent, but Cadair Idris after Snowdon is where fatigue really hits.
No — you must train on hills. Stairs, hill reps, and long mountain walks are essential.

Google Review

★★★★★

"This was my first time cycling with Adventure Cafe; first time riding from London to Paris and my first time riding this sort of distance over 3 days. Lots of preparation had gone into this from AC prior to departing London."
